VCPs and VCDXs, Cisco (and their Gold Partner’s) Needs You!

During last week’s Cisco Live! event in San Fran it was announced that Cisco were introducing 4 new certifications, two of which are for the Cisco UCS.
The interesting thing about these certifications are the prerequisites.

Cisco Certified Unified Computing Design Speciaist – http://bit.ly/tT6VU
All candidates MUST hold a VCDX
You must have valid CCDA and pass theĀ  642-978 DCUCD qualifier exam

Cisco Certified Unified Computing Support Specialist – http://bit.ly/hmu43
All candidates MUST hold a VCP
You must have a valid CCNA and pass the 642-979 DCUCI qualifier exam

This does not come as a surprise as we have seen VMware and Cisco getting very friendly of late.

In my humble opinion I would not be shocked if we were to see Cisco positioning a take-over bid for EMC in the near future, as has been rumoured since 2005.

apparently you only need to have passed the Design Exam and not the full vcdx track.
